WHAT SECRETS DO OUR HEROES HOLD?

Apocalyptic nightmares. A fiendish bargain for one's life. A run-in with a night hag. A missing soul, or memory. These are the things we keep close to our chest, hoping that they will never see the light of day, but these secrets make us who we are, and if you do not reveal them, they have a way of revealing themselves.

Introduced in Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden, character secrets are hidden sins or regrets drawn during character creation. They are meant to forment distrust, suspicion, and intrigue among the player characters. Each secret comes with an optional mechanical benefit, as well as narrative seeds to supplement your Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus campaign.
