Belters have made an important strike in the Hohosarsyia asteroid belt. Previously only mundane minerals have been found there. This time rare metals required for high tech manufacturing have been discovered. This could truly cause a gold rush in the belts to find more. However....a problem has arisen. A multi-legged creature known as the Lenkar has emerged from the asteroid where this strike was found. The creature is apparently intelligent and has the capability of space travel and even jump speed. It emerged from the asteroid in a space ship and immediately began blasting asteroid mining ships to oblivion. The creature then approached the nearby mining base on Gesaka and the Lenkar went on a rampage. It killed hundreds of miners and administrative personnel.
The travelers are approached by Ahmed Kask. Kask is a representative of the Argo Mining Corporation. This is one of the smaller mining corporations in the sector and is the primary claim holder of the asteroid strike that led to this disaster. The small nature of the company dictates their strong interest in this strike. It is the only major find that they have made and without it they are likely to go bankrupt. The loss of so many miners and corporate types may lead to many lawsuits over their handling of this affair.
Kask needs someone to deal with the Lenkar. Argo needs possession of this asteroid. They need the Lenkar out of the way
