Description

From publisher blurb:

A millennia-spanning mystery for use with award-winning Monster of the Week system and other horror games!

In ancient Greece a group of Spartan children who survived being „left for death” became the new, multi-bodied incarnation of the mythical Hydra. United by a hive mind they head for Sparta to get their revenge. They can be stopped but not killed so once stopped they’ll surely be back. For example – now!

It’s still Sparta! is a mystery that takes place in two incarnations both in mythical ancient Greece and in contemporary Sparta. The players first temporarily take the roles of Spartan heroes who try to stop the monsters from ravaging their city. Clio, the Muse of History, promises them that their memories of this fight will be given to their successors when the monsters strike again. When they do in our times, it’s up to your regular hunters to finish the Spartans’ struggle and defeat them for good.

In the mystery you'll find:

A millennia-spanning struggle between Hydra and Clio
Advice and rules for running a unique, two-layer adventure for Spartan heroes and modern monster hunters, including a special one-use character sheet
Locations and NPCs to make both ancient and moderns Sparta vivid, living cities
Advice on fitting the Greek mythology into mythology of your ongoing campaign.

It’s still Sparta! is the third installment of Monsters of Europe, a series of mysteries inspired by facts and legends from all around Europe. You can find the first one: The Haunted Case of Eleonore Zugun and the second one, Blood in Budapest.
