Jay and Silent Bob: Mall Brawl was released on May 7, 2020. It is a full 8-bit retro beat-em-up experience with big levels, big bosses, dope combos, and irreverent references to director Kevin Smith's "View Askewniverse". The game can be played solo in a 1-player experience where you swap between both Jay and Silent Bob strategically or played with a buddy, in a 2-player co-operative experience, where you fight your way through mallrats, delinquents and security guards to find your way out of the mall and back to the Quickstop.
A limited physical cartridge for the Nintendo Entertainment System was available through Limited Run Games along with a physical version for Nintendo Switch. The game is also available digitally on PC through Steam and GOG as well as on the Nintendo Switch eShop.
A free update called Jay and Silent Bob: Mall Brawl - Arcade Edition was released on May 20, 2021. It contains enhancements over the original release such as crisper graphics and a re-arranged score. It also re-tuned the balance and tweaked a few other things. This update also coincided with the digital release of the game on Xbox One/Series X/S and PlayStation 4/5. Limited Run Games produced a new physical edition for the PlayStation 4 version as well.
