The rules of Jot are fairly simple. The game is played entirely with three-letter words. All letters of each word must be distinct - no repeats...To begin the game, each player chooses a secret word. The remainder of the game involves trying to be the first player to deduce the other's secret word.

Jotto was written by Kent Cross for the Altair and published in 1975, here you have to guess a five letter word.
Type in any five letter word such as VIDEO and the computer will tell you how many letters are correct and how many are correctly placed (jots), then you have to have to type in a new one: so if video had two correct letters but no jots, you can try BOARD. You have to guess it as quickly as possible (with as few tries as possible).
