KALKÜL (Calculus) features a 5x5 wooden playing area, and each player has their own set of tokens numbered 1-4, which are placed in separate bags. Each area in the game board can hold up to four tokens, and players take turns drawing one of their tokens from their bag and placing it in one of the available locations.
The game ends once all the spaces are filled. If a player's tokens in a space have a larger sum than the opponent's, then that player has won that space. Win a majority of spaces on the game board to win the game.
KALKÜL includes two play variants:
Leave all of the player tokens visible on the table, with players placing whichever token of theirs that they want on the game board.
Place all of the tokens in the same bag. Whether you draw your token or your opponent's, place that on the game board.
