Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards is one of few Kirby titles not directed by Masahiro Sakurai. It is the first game starring Kirby on N64, as well as the first 3D game in the series. The game is notable for Kirby's ability to merge two separate copy abilities together as opposed to just using one. It is also the sequel to Kirby's Dream Land 3.
