Will your players work to save the village of Dons Hollow from the evil plotting of a Necromancer? Or will they pose as heroes while secretly working to beat the Necromancer at his own game, setting in motion the eventual destruction of your entire campaign world?
The idyllic village of Dons Hollow has had a few bad weeks. First, the thorn bushes around the old battlefield hill north of town started growing out of control. Then came the rumors of strange folk seen wandering late at night through the hills around the village. It wasn’t long before people started disappearing. Then an entire family of farmers was found murdered. Finally, only three days ago, the village priest was found slain in his chapel. All of that would have been terrible enough, but when the village wakes one morning to find that it has become surrounded by giant walls of thorns and cut off from the rest of the world, panic takes hold.
“Knight of the Sun” is a fantasy roleplaying game adventure intended for three to six characters of 2nd to 4th level. Woven together from an OSR sensibility and difficulty level, this is the first in a series of adventure modules in which the PCs are either working as heroes to try and save the world from the Cult of Orcus or working as villains trying to outdo their rival cultists and spark off an undead apocalypse. This first chapter of the tale should take between two and five game sessions to complete (depending on play style and session length).
