This chapter overhauls Krezk through the death, resurrection, and abduction of Ireena Kolyana by Strahd, thereby setting up The Wedding at Ravenloft:
Evil's Bride. The Companion's most devastating storyline to date, Evil's Bride sees Ireena Kolyana slain by Strahd's thunderbolt as she almost escapes Barovia and joins Sergei in Krezk's sacred pool. Better for the Devil, he knows, to kill Ireena and wait another generation than lose Tatyana forever. Having seen the Abbot already resurrect the burgomaster's son, the adventurers will know to bring Ireena's corpse to the Abbey of Saint Markovia. Alas, following her resurrection, Strahd arrives on the back of Beucephalus, his nightmare steed, to seize his beloved Tatyana once and for all. The following morning, invitations to the Wedding at Ravenloft are sent out across Barovia.
