La Garde veille! (The Guard is on watch!) is an original module for the Jours de Gloire series, set at battalion scale, inserted in VaeVictis magazine #178.
It covers Guard’s actions during the Battle of Eylau. The first scenario cover 1st Battalion of Grenadiers à pied regiment against a Russian column approaching Eylau’s cimetary and village. The second one is dedicated to the charge of the Grenadier à cheval regiment at the end of the famous Murat’s cavalry charge.
The scale is 100 m per hexagon and one Strength Point corresponds to about 200 infantry, 150 cavalry or 2 guns. The game includes two maps, one per scenario. The game lenghth is 4 or 5 turns, each covering 15 minutes of real time. A game of La Garde veille! should last around 1 hour.
