Publisher's blurb:

This is the 77th in an ongoing series aimed to provide the overworked DM with ready-to run encounters. The PCs find the Last Inn, a mysterious establishment run by a family of duin damhain-allaidh. Will the check in but not check out?

The Last Inn began as a reputable establishment in the province of Karabeth and was run by the retired adventurer Jesh. Unfortunately for Jesh, he and his inn caught the shining eyes of Sharlette, a duin damhain-allaidh. After winning him over with her charm, Sharlette came to genuinely like Jesh and the two ran the inn as a couple for a few years. But nature ran its course and their love ended in Jesh’s death and the birth of their daughter.

When invaders came to her city, Sharlette wanted to preserve her inn and came up with a clever idea. Over the years, Sharlette made her inn available to the druids of Shadash and had, on many occasions, secured sacrifices for them. She asked them if Shadash would be willing to draw her Inn into the Ashenfey. After considering the matter and consulting the entrails of a sacrifice, the druids agreed to her request. After securing suitable sacrifices, the druids transformed the cornerstones of the inn into magical stones. These stones allowed the inn to shift between the material plane and the Ashenfey. When the invaders broke the defenses of the city, Sharlette provided “refuge” for many desperate citizens and then brought them and the inn into the Ashenfey. These people soon realized the horror of their situation and most wished they had been killed by the invaders. Sharlette did spare some of them; she needed workers for the inn.

Since then, the inn has shifted between the Ashenfey and the material realm, a successful business in two worlds run by a skilled job creator.

A duin damhain-allaidh is CR 2. The encounter can easily be modified by increasing the number of foes.

This encounter includes a history/background for the encounter, maps, and monster stats. The companion ZIP file contains JPEG versions of the maps (with and without grid), the Word file of the encounter, and a Fantasy Grounds Unity Module file.
