Description

From the publisher:

The ancient House d'Arkoud stood as a beacon of power and nobility. For centuries, its name commanded respect and fear, its lands a testament to the enduring legacy of a proud lineage. Yet, as the tides of fortune ebbed and flowed, House d'Arkoud found itself cast into the shadows, its once-vast holdings usurped by ambitious Norman lords, its people scattered to the winds. Avelina d'Arkoud, the last scion of this venerable house, grew up far from the grandeur of her ancestors, hidden in the secluded groves of Ardouael. Under the watchful eye of Aramiel, an enigmatic sage versed in ancient lore and arcane arts, she learned the history and secrets of her lineage. The prophecy of old, inscribed in the arcane Aramaic tongue, spoke of a rightful heir who would rise to reclaim the lost glory of House d'Arkoud. As the Norman oppressors tightened their grip on the lands of Ardouael, the fires of rebellion began to stir. Guided by the teachings of Aramiel and driven by an unyielding sense of justice, Avelina set forth on a perilous quest. Her path was fraught with danger and betrayal, but also with the hope of rekindling the ancient flame of her heritage. Alongside loyal allies like the disillusioned knight Reynard de Vaucelles and the mystical healer Soraya al-Qudra, Avelina would challenge the usurpers and seek to restore the honor and power of House d'Arkoud. In the tumultuous struggle for Montclair, the ancestral seat now occupied by the cunning Lord Gervais de Montclair, Avelina's courage and determination would be put to the ultimate test. The battle for her family's legacy would shape the future of Ardouael and become a legend whispered through the ages.
