The world of Lemuria is like our world, but with partly different history and heography. The sparsely populated and lawless continent of Lemuria has beeen placed in the position of Antarctica. This contiinent is larger and more varied regarding climate, nature and population. It is partly reminiscent of Canada, partly of Siberia; an ice-covered polar zone surrounded by huge pinewoods, large lakes, big marshes and tall mountain ranges.
The atmosphere in the world, that is set in the start of the 1930s, is a mixture of the Indiana Jones-movies, the polar thrillers of Alistair Maclean, Clint Eastwood-type westerns (f.e. Pale Rider), John Carpenter's "The Thing" and the early books of the flying ace James Bigglesworth. on Lemuria the adventurers fight the harsh climate, expeditions from fanatical states, brutal militaries, ruthless big conglomerates, the escapting sylvanian aboriginees and strange phenomena. This genre is called diesel punk.
