News of a recent collision between a merchant freighter and an asteroid has been circling the Sonora sector lately. All hands were lost and a great deal of valuable cargo was destroyed. What was most notable, however, is that the merchant freighter was traveling near the trade lanes. The asteroid was not where it was expected to be. The asteroid belt was uncharted and unknown. It was not circling the system star in a normal pattern.
Nadia Sato, a scientist with the Sonoran Astronomical Society, has a theory. She believes that this particular belt might be a remnant of some past intergalactic war. Perhaps some planet was destroyed in the system which made rubble where one would not expect it to be.
She contacts the travelers about visiting the asteroid that caused the collision to inspect it for alien artifacts or relics to confirm or dispel her theory.
