From publisher blurb:
"No harm ever came from reading a book…"
–Evelyn, The Mummy
The year is 1936. The world is on the brink of collapse, and the echoes of the past resonate through ancient ruins, hidden temples, and forbidden jungles. Political tensions are high as nations vie for power, secret societies pull strings from the shadows, and ancient relics hold secrets that could change the course of history.
Crack your whip. Raid some tombs. Punch Nazis. Welcome to Living Danger, a pulp setting and supplement for ELEMENTAL, and a toolkit full of inspiration for your Indiana/Mummy/Tomb type adventures in any system. A world of action and adventure awaits!
Okay, so what’s in the book?
In a word: inspiration! The book aims to super-charge your imagination by putting decades of pulp stories, movies and comics at your fingertips and help you craft compelling characters, plots, items, encounters, adventures and campaigns. It is both a supplement for ELEMENTAL, and a system-agnostic toolkit for any pulp RPG. It’s an “anti-canon” setting book: Rather than drowning you in details and lore, it gives you prompts to help you generate your own setting or adapt these ideas to an existing setting from popular media.
This initial release contains 72 encounter seeds suitable for any pulp setting, and 18 diabolical traps to bedevil the players.
