From publisher blurb:
The Kits’adria was previously released as a stand-alone race but has returned! This race of shapeshifting fox people are one of the most lovable and fun elements of the Somnis Domina setting, and in this book, they have been expanded! In celebration of this reimagining of the first race we ever released, this book looks into their mythology, culture, and historical context and offers a waterfall of extra content from Somnis Domina!
This project began as a simple reimagining of the Kits’adria but quickly became a labor of love that features a variety of options for players. It focuses on the Kits’adria and offers player and GM tools that can be used with or without the race. Within this book, you will find the following:
The update Kits’adria race
9 subraces and templates for quickly assigning them to NPCs
Characteristic tables for the race
Breakdowns of the race’s culture, mythology, and history
28 new subclasses for all of the core 5th Edition classes, including the Inscriptor, Magus, Petal Knight, and Sword Saint.
New weapons, armor, and firearm rules
8 new feats
43 new spells, many sorted into 3 new spell groups (including updated spell lists)
Plot hooks
18 magic items, 8 artifacts, and 2 saint myth weapons
39 NPCs for a variety of different occasions
Subclasses
The subclasses included in this document focus on different types of Kits’adria and those who might live similarly to them, mostly following the theme of expanding the options various classes have for poisons, light weapons, and druidic/primal magic.
Treasury
Included are various new weapons and special armor, including a revised system for firearms. These new weapons and their new properties offer new ways to play, adding the powerful but expensive element of firearms to the game, including trigger weapons that have firearms built into them. Furthermore, a system for using armor based on damage absorptions over avoidance is included.
Many new magic items are included that offer fun new options to include or reward your players with or have fun using within your games (such as the assassin’s teapot, a devious real-world item). Many artifacts from the Kits’adrian gods and heroes are also included. For fans of Somnus Domina, the constellequaries of Luxus and a general breakdown of constellequaries and eidolic damage are included.
Spells
The spells contained within this book are, for the most part, related to three spell groups. It offers these groups so you can decide if a character might have access to these spells or offer roleplaying options to players by way of having them seek a means of learning them. These spell groups include the spells created by the first Kits’adria, as well as the magic of one of the Kits’adria’s deities, Kitsune.
GMing Tools
The book contains a Q/A section to answer design questions about their race, lore, history, suggestions for incorporating them into settings other than Somnus Domina, and pages of plot hooks and divine blessings meant to provoke thought and add interest to the game.
Bestiary
The creature compendium features 39 NPCs, many of whom are named individuals of great importance in Kits’adrian lore, ranging from CR 1 to 30. Among them is an aspect of Luxus, the eidolos Kitsune, a world-ending hypothetical Beast of Cataclysm, and much more! Many of the NPCs included are narratively involved in Kits’adria culture but can be repurposed easily for use elsewhere.
Among them are explanations for two new creature types: eidolos and deities, and how they function and interact with eidolic and magical damage. This book also features additional yokai, expanding on the fiend type included in the Hanyou 2020.
