User Summary
Magical Drop III is the third title in a series of puzzle games created by Data East. The game is a matching puzzle where each player attempts to create groups of 3 or more bubbles of the same color. Completing groups will destroy the bubbles and add more to the opponent’s board. If the bubbles reach the bottom of the screen, that player loses. A player can also win by fulfilling a bubble quota marked in the centre of the screen.
Drop III has three game modes that can be played. Survival Mode provides an endless stream of bubbles and slowly ramps up in difficulty as gameplay continues. Story Mode pits the player against a series of progressively stronger opponents in head-to-head matchups. Story Mode also permits two player battles, with the winner continuing the story.
Magical Journey Mode subjects the player to a number of bubble popping puzzles and culminates in a duel against Empress, one of the 16 playable characters. Magical Journey Mode plays like a board game, allowing the player to choose which path they take as they move from space to space on their quest.
