Mares is a game designed for 2–4 players that combines action management, card collection, and strategic decision-making mechanics with a unique and immersive theme: the sea. It’s perfect for anyone looking for an engaging gaming experience, whether they are beginners or seasoned board game enthusiasts.
The goal is to be the player with the most points at the end of the game. Points are earned by observing marine creatures and completing missions. The deeper you go, the more valuable the creatures you observe — but the greater the risks. Descending comes with penalties that apply at the end of the 6-round game. You can get rid of these penalties, but you’ll have to choose between removing them or continuing to observe.
To achieve your goals, you have 4 actions per round, and each action you take blocks it for all the other player until the end of the round.
