Humanity has been wiped out by a solar flare. The Earth and Moon, seared and scorched leaving only only the few thousand martian colonists representing a handful of Earth's nations alive. Forced to survive on the barren harsh surface of Mars with only what they can scavenge and jury rig together, knowing that no supplies, no help, and no relief is on the way. If that was not enough, old tensions between nations have begun to flare up. Panic and fear could topple the colony stations at any moment.
