Mastering Resistance: Orange Gobi

Game ID: GID0203881
Collection Status
Description

From 1943 to the end of World War Two, both the American Office of Strategic Services (OSS) and the British Special Operations Executive (SOE) materially assisted the anti-Fascist, anti-Nazi Partisan movement in Italy.

This themed module for the Mastering Resistance game system abstracts and fictionalizes the work of OSS teams in and around Turin during the final months of World War Two in Italy. The Mastering Resistance basic system consists of rules for a single player to practice and play through a series of missions and operations typical of a covert team sent in to organize and direct resistance within a country in conflict, what the US Special Forces call “unconventional warfare”. The general idea is to present this along the lines of the USMC tactical vignettes book Mastering Tactics, via the popular genre of simple solitaire interactive “book wargames”.

This is a free, print-and-play solitaire wargame (with the possibility for 2 players). Besides the downloaded material for the game, players need 8-10 dice, 1 deck of ordinary playing cards (2 decks if playing the 2 or 3-player experimental versions) and 3 containers for markers.
