Medieval City Streets

From the Introduction

Row upon row of cheap wooden or half timbered houses dominate this part of town. Most are only two stories tall but some stand taller. Even the main streets are rather narrow and most pathways could not accommodate a cart of any size. As if it were not enough that too many rather flammable houses crowd much too close in this district the same can be said about the numerous people living here. Large crowds, narrow alleys and thin walls make for an explosive mix at the best of times.
