Description

From publisher blurb:

The medusaborn are a cursed race for 5th Edition D&d.

The medusaborn are a race who inherited the medusa's curse from their parents, by one of many means. They do not carry the same image of their parents, but instead the curse is diluted and forms in one of two unique forms that represent the opposing natures of a medusa. Ever-beautiful as the medusa's blessing implies, the medusaborn are elegant in their monstrosity. The two forms, the eurydale and stheno, result from different circumstances of their birth.

This document contains the full race, descriptions of their tendencies, beliefs and social structures, the nature of their birth and relationship with their nature as the result of a medusa's curse and circumstances they may find themselves in. Furthurmore, it outlines the cults of personality that a medusa may construct from medusaborn who share its curse and the stat blocks for six NPCs related to such a cult.

The NPC stat blocks featured are

Eurydale Attendant (CR 1/2)
Eurydale Cultist (CR 1/2)
Eurydale Knifewinder (CR 8)
Euryale Stoneguardian (CR 9)
Stheno Perfect Child (CR 1/8)
Stheno Mage (CR 7)
The medusaborn race is a strong choice for playing a character who struggles with a sense of belonging, and wants to seek more. They are prone to vanity and pride, but simultaneously know to combat those qualities within themselves. Medusaborn are always outsiders even among their own kind. If you're looking to play a character who seeks wisdom outside themselves to battle their obsessive self-serving impulses or seek to outgrow a cursed parentage then this is a race you should consider!
