From publisher blurb:
The stars loomed cold and distant beyond the great viewing ports of Concord Station, a place caught between light and shadow, war and uneasy peace. The station was an amalgamation of countless metal grafts and alloys from a dozen factions, each slice of metal bearing the silent history of struggle and blood spilled for its claim. Concord was not merely a station but a testament to the fragile agreements that had brought it into existence—a pact of alliances forged in the fires of past wars and reluctantly maintained to avoid fresh carnage. You are here, drawn into this labyrinthine world, though whether as diplomat, negotiator, or spy, you cannot yet say. The air is thick with expectation, charged with whispers and secrets exchanged behind closed doors, and here on Concord, silence is a more powerful weapon than any blade. You can feel the eyes upon you, hidden glances that follow your movements, calculating, assessing, waiting for a misstep. Every faction within the station has its own agenda, its own web of allegiances and grudges, and your presence has added a new and unknown piece to this delicate game. Beyond these walls, space churns with shifting alliances and fragile truces, but it is here, within these close quarters, that the true dangers lie. A mishap or misjudged word could unravel years of careful negotiation, could plunge worlds into chaos, could tear down the very station itself. The feeling settles in your bones that Concord’s peaceful exterior is a mask, that beneath its polished floors and gleaming lights lies something malignant, something waiting for the perfect moment to awaken. As you walk these halls, you realize that you are not a guest here; you are a pawn, placed at the whim of powers that stretch far beyond your reach.
