Characters have Traits generated by random roll against a table. Each Trait has a Sign, Symbol, Meaning, and Value - and also indicates demographic features. The Value in turn is used to consult an entry in the I Ching which further defines the character. During play, simple dice pools are used to generate additional random results ("hexagrams"). The game is intended to remain faithful to the historical basis of the Japanese-American Internment during the early 1940s in the USA.
