This expansion was released prior to the "Abenteuer Basis-Spiel" (DSA3 core rules), thus officially as an expansion box for DSA2. Nevertheless it was designed to supplement DSA3 from the start.

"What is a hero's life like in Aventurien ? How does he grow up, what is his background ? What difference does it make if your father was an earl or a blacksmith ?
"Mit Mantel, Schwert und Zauberstab" answers those questions and in addition to that includes rules supplements and refinements. All talents as well as the battle system are explained in detail, new classes (hunter, mercenary, medico and many more) are being introduced.
