Description

A 2 player Jass with a traditional deck. Each player plays against the other player and also a single shared “dummy” who is considered a player in its own right but whose cards are played by both. The goal is to capture tricks so that one’s total captured card-points are either the highest or the lowest of the two humans and dummy--that is, avoiding being in the middle. After each hand the top and bottom slots earn sticks (positive game points) while the middle slot earns potatoes (negative game pts). As both players compete against each other over eight hands to earn the most sticks, the Winner must also ensure the Dummy doesn’t beat them both--because if it wins, both humans lose, equally. A perverse game of positioning!

Part of the Twisted Dummy series of two player games in the European tradition.
