Mixed Pickles

Game ID: GID0212350
Collection Status
Description

A dexterity party game from the late 19th century comprising sets of wonderful, polished wooden misshapes (the pickles) and a rack's-worth of pointed, wooden handled 'lifting spikes'(!).

Each player receives set of the pickle pieces and two spikes; starting with the Turnip piece, they try and lift the piece into the 'jar' - if they stand up OR drop the piece their turn is over. The first player to drop the turnip in chooses the next piece, all others set their turnips aside for end game penalty scoring.

The rules mention an extra rule for 'Tittups' - pieces that don't seem to exist in any edition this reporter has seen (and I've seen three different editions, one of which removes all mention of Tittups altogether).

Different editions presented in cylindrical, square and octagonal bottles have been confirmed.
