The Monastery is home to a religious order of monks or similar devotees. The lower floor contains work areas, the large chapel, the cloister at the centre and various other rooms for the GM to populate or flesh out.
Like many European monasteries of the time this one lacks independent cells for the monks of the order, instead the monks of lowest standing sleep communally in dormitories on the upper floor while only the most senior of Monks, usually those with special duties, are given private rooms of their own.
Typically these would also be quite Spartan.
