The Way of Water is a defensive monk subclass with a focus on dodging and redirecting attacks. The subclass is inspired by Aikido and flowing with the momentum of attacks rather than blocking them head-on as well as the Bruce Lee quote "be water, my friend."
Monks of the Way of Water believe that overcoming obstacles is best achieved by a calm demeanor, adaptability of spirit and flexibility of body and mind. They teach to be like water, making its way through cracks. Water does not overcome the stone by being assertive, but it adjusts to the object and soon finds its way around or through it. Practitioners of the Way of Water often repeat the following mantra:
Empty your mind
Be formess, shapeless, like water
Water can flow or it can crash
Be water, my friend.
