Monochrome Chess

Game ID: GID0213839
Collection Status
Description

Monochrome Chess is played with 2 identical Chess sets, set up as you would for ordinary Chess, except with the same color on both sides of the board. The objective is to capture pieces (including the King) of your opponent.

Any piece positioned on your side of the board (i.e. the 4 rows closest to you) is yours, while any piece on the other side of the board belongs to your opponent. Any time you move a piece across the center line, it becomes your opponent's piece. You may only capture pieces belonging to your opponent, so pieces which get moved onto your side of the board can only be captured by your opponent. There is no "check" or "checkmate": a king may be captured, and the game ends if one player runs out of pieces.

The player who has the captured the highest point-value total of the opponents pieces is the winner. (K = 10, Q = 8, R= 5, B = 4, Kt 3, P = 1)
