Description
In the 1850s, Americans were turning their eyes to the West. Hardy settlers had been traveling the plains for the past decade. In 1856, a group of men from Columbus, Ohio selected a spot near the confluence of the Platte and Loup Rivers as the place they would start a new town, in Nebraska, called Columbus. 150 years later, Columbus, Nebraska celebrates its Sesquicentennial or 150th birthday.
From a proud past filled with characters like Buffalo Bill Cody and the North Brothers to a current city of 21,000 filled with industry and advanced agriculture, it has been 150 years of "Power and Progress."
Enjoy this collector's edition of the world's favorite board game, Monopoly, with images and properties drawn from Columbus, Nebraska in 2006.
