This supplement is a sequel to Monsters Unleashed and, much like the original, it provides five new races for players (or NPCs) in your D&D campaigns: yetis, merfolk, cecaelia, gargoyles, and harpies. Also included are nine new subraces for existing monstrous and mythical races found in other sourcebooks: centaurs (arachnine, demonic, draconic, feline, and ursine), goliaths (cyclops-born, ettin-born and gegenee-born) and highland minotaurs. You will also find other additional customization options in the form of new racial feats.

In the first supplement, the vast majority of races were those that would be found as antagonists in classic gothic horror, such as vampires and werewolves. This time, while some such races feature, the focus has shifted more towards those creatures found in traditional myths and legends.
