moon is an 2D RPG-ish adventure game, developped by the team called "Lovedelic", which was formed by the main team behind Super Mario RPG.
In moon, the player is playing a game within a game gone real – the long introduction shows a little boy playing the game "Moon" and, after being asked by his mom to stop, gets sucked into the TV, and appears as a ghost in the game itself – although things doesn't exactly seem to be as in the game.
The gameplay consists of exploring the world you've landed in, and collect Love, which will prolong the time the player can be awake. If time runs out, the game is over, but if the player manages to reach his bed in time, the timer is reset. The more Love the player collects, the longer he can stay awake. Love is collected by solving small quests and finding the wandering spirits of the various creatures that the Hero has slain.
The game meta-jokes with its own genre in more than one way, and it's obvious that the creators wanted to make a point of that the typical hero in a typical RPG back in the NES days, was actually quite the douchebag.
The game was only relesed for the Playstation, and never released outside of Japan.
