My Pet Protector is an RPG. You instruct an apprentice and each week must decide whether to make them work, attend school, or adventure. Each activity affects the apprentice's stats and costs some amount of stress points. Become too stressed and you must spent time resting.
Most of the game is menu-driven but the adventuring takes the form of a dungeon plan. You choose where to step and reveal more passageways, enemies and treasure. Fighting an enemy is done RPG-style with you selecting to attack or use magic, trying to decrease the enemy's HP before your own are gone.
The game lasts over 208 weeks until your apprentice turns 18.
