Established just over a century ago, Magnimar is well known as the City of Monuments. The metropolis earned this nickname with the completion of the Arvensoar, a grand tower that commemorates a miracle that spared the town from destruction during its early days. According to legend, founder Ordellia Whilwren called out to an angel who was said to watch over the local Varisians for protection from a mighty storm. Her prayers were answered with a dramatic flash of light that parted the clouds and cleared the skies. In the intervening years, Magnimar’s people have constructed over a dozen additional monuments in and around the city, many of them commemorating historic moments or honoring the celestial beings who watch over them. Included among these monuments is the Glade of Silver Sparks, a humble dancing field dedicated to Ashava, empyreal lord of dancers, wayward spirits, and moonlight. Nestled deep within the Mushfens swamp to the south of Magnimar, this monument sees few visitors. Unbeknownst to most, the glade houses a relic called the Soul Spark that acts as a beacon for wayward souls, guiding the restless dead to the afterlife.
