Players take turns pulling a random ingredient from a bag and placing it on an empty location of a three by three grid (the cauldron). After placing the ingredient, the player can complete a potion by matching an exact color pattern to a recipe card that they have in their hand or displayed around the cauldron. If they don't see a match, they may draw a card and then discard a card to search for a more suitable recipe. The first player to complete a number of potions based on the number of players wins.
