This book revises and updates the entire system of regency, bloodline and blood abilities presented in the original Birthright materials for use with 3e or later versions of the game. This optional system of rules allows for much greater flexibility and variation in developing blooded characters, permitting a practically endless variation in the abilities of scions. The original blood abilities are preserved and developed to create a complete and more fully realized system.
New Scions also updates the regency system using the methods for portraying character in later versions of Dungeons & Dragons. This system is backwards and forwards compatible and based upon the methods used in the original setting materials. In addition, a system of abbreviation and notation is included in this system to standardize characters and ease record keeping.
