Since Crawmen are a type of humanoid crustacean, they have a thick carapace that expands as the Crawman grows. Crawmen do not grow gradually; they grow in stages. This is usually done several times during the first three years of the Crawmans life; it tapers off to once a year once it becomes an adult.
