This game takes the Dragon Quest JRPG formula and spins it into something new. In Rainbow Silk Road selling high and buying low is the name of the game. The player does not get any gold or experience points for wining battles! Instead the player is forced to trade goods on the Silk Road to acquire money. Money buys more powerful weapons and armour -- how you "Level Up" -- as well as the Kings favour and additional quests.
This game was only released in Japan.
