Nymphs are nature spirits and minor goddesses from Greek mythology renowned for their captivating beauty. They feature throughout the legends of many gods and great heroes and are venerated in real-world folklore to the present day.

In D&D terms, they are Fey.

Nymphs dwell in nature and care for the wild places and creatures of the world. In that respect, they are similar to elves, but also quite different. They are not a numerous people, and have little need for large-scale settlements, typically sleeping under the skies, in small caves and grottoes, or in tiny remote cottages. Some nymphs are solitary, whilst others remain with their sisters in family units or small coteries.

There are many varieties of nymphs, from the well-known dryads to mysterious maenads and from fleet-footed oreads to siren-like nereids.
