No continente de Ryanon, a única liberdade real possível é a do pensamento, e até mesmo essa pode ser manipulada pelos habilidosos. Refugiados de diversas cidades e vilas tentam escapar do horror e miséria da guerra, e muitos são os que acabam mortos ou escravizados.
A aventura começa com os personagens capturados, desarmados e desamparados. Os íbanos, povo alto e forte do leste, são conhecidos por suas práticas escravocráticas que cobrem todo o continente. Procurando em vários cantos de Ryanon, os íbanos capturam todos aqueles que julgam lucrativos, ou ao menos úteis em seus trabalhos.
Após semanas aprisionados, os personagens avistam os Montes Tolgari, um território selvagem e perigoso, repleto de goblins e criaturas vis. Nada disso parecia um problema para os escravistas, determinados a seguirem em direção à Baía Tolgari, rumando então ao Império Hecato, a nação mais rica e autoritária do continente.

On Ryanon's continent, the only real freedom possible is that of thought, and even this can be manipulated by the skilled. Refugees from various cities and towns try to escape the horror and misery of war, and many are the ones who end up dead or enslaved.
The adventure begins with characters captured, disarmed and helpless. The Ibo, a tall and strong people from the east, are known for their slave practices that cover the entire continent. Searching in various corners of Ryanon, the Ibanos capture all those who find it profitable, or at least useful in their work.
After weeks imprisoned, the characters see the Tolgari Mountains, a wild and dangerous territory, full of goblins and vile creatures. None of this seemed to be a problem for the slaveowners, who were determined to go to Tolgari Bay, then to the Hecato Empire, the richest and most authoritarian nation on the continent.
What they did not count was a sudden onslaught of the local barbarians of the Bear clan, powerful warriors and territorialists, enemies of anyone they deem to be invaders of their domain.
