Description

From the back cover:

Here’s your treasure… good luck getting it home!

Treasure should be interesting — not just piles of coins! In The Hobbit, Tolkien mentions “countless piles of precious things” and “coats of mail, helms and axes, swords and spears hanging” among the treasures in Smaug’s hoard. Fritz Leiber’s Grey Mouser finds “slim books bound in gold-lined fine-grained red and violet leather”, “a rack of gleaming lenses and slim brass tubes”, and “a slim dark-haired girl [in] a gold-barred cage” in his “Bazaar of Bizarre”.
Even Gary Gygax recommends against treasure simply being heaps of coin, asking “Is not a suit of armor of great value? What of a supply of oil?” and goes on to say that “the upper levels of a dungeon need not be stuffed like a piggy bank”.
Unfortunately, the rules of old-school RPGs don’t give GMs much help in creating interesting and varied treasure hoards… which is where this book comes in! Inside, you’ll find tables to assist you in crafting treasures with variety!

Designed for use with Dungeons & Dragons and similar systems.
