From the introduction:
In the world of Varsol, magic is a normal aspect of physics, no different from electromagnetism or weak nuclear force. All creatures are inundated with magic while in the womb (or egg, as appropriate). This means there is no such things as ‘antimagic’ as in other systems; antimagic is equivalent to shutting down gravity.
Publisher's blurb:
t's like twenty PDFs and they're all completely insane. I should also say that none of the documents, including the ones specifically about the rules, actually explain how the system works in detail, that's all stuff I learned as we played.
User summary:
Orb of the Albino Doom Goat was a long-running game played partially on an online forum, using a home-made setting called 'Varsol.
The rules vaguely were understood to be a heavily-modified implementation of Dungeons & Dragons. Occasionally, segments of the game's rules were provided and usually these were converted into PDF format.
In ca. 2018, seventeen "standardized" PDF documents covering various aspects of the campaign and rules were published online (Magic Rules, Stats, Levels, Races, Weapons, Maneuvers, Professions and Skills, Magic - Trigonothaumogy, Magic - Somnamancy Resave, Magic - Conjuration, and Magic - Level 1 Spells through Magic - Level 7 Spells).
These separate documents subsequently were combined into a final "omnibus" document, noted here. The document's final title was derived from one of the included spells, and appears to have been used only retroactively to refer to the game itself.
