You are one of those orbital space station dwelling kids that folks commonly refer to as “orbital brats”… or “orbrats” as you and your friends prefer. You’ve spent your whole life in the secure confines of a giant tin can you call home. Sure you’ve gone on numerous trips with your parents, but you always hated the outdoors in any shape or form. And you certainly didn’t sign up for this stupid camp thing you are stuck at now…
Oh, yeah, the camp thing. For some reason your parents decided that you needed to be enrolled in a summer survival camp challenge. They wanted to get you out of the station, give you a chance to learn some real life skills, teach you the value of team work, and let you see how things were like in some dopey re-creation of 21st century “roughing it”. Yeah, needless to say you had a big melt down over that idea, but you’re still stuck here with a group of losers you don’t even know… or want to know.
Just when you thought you couldn’t take another second of the gnats, the rambling on about rules, and the steam bath of your own sweat the cheap rusty android said something that got your attention...
“the sooner that you complete the challenge the sooner your stay ends and you can go home…”
Okay, yeah, that sounds good! What was the challenge again!?! Pick up some lame looking trophies, reach the goal point, stick together? They even give you a map… this should be easy then… right?
Orbital Brat Survival Camp is a rules lite RPG for two or more players. This is a map driven adventure in which you take on the role of a space age adolescent. You have been shipped off your space station habitat so that you can experience the wonders of nature at a survival camp on a lush alien world. Though technically a “one shot” adventure the randomness offers a decent amount of replay value. The goal of this adventure is pretty simple: Enter the camp at the starting point and work your way along the trails until you have collected all twelve of the trophy relics. Once you and your group have collected these you will proceed together to the goal point to end the game. Do this and you can go back home. The various unpredictable situations and oddball wildlife you will run into, however, is what makes this task truly challenging.
