When an asteroid spider lives to a great old age, and has fed on many crews to grow to a great size, it can achieve incredible power. Wise enough to command language and potentially more reasonable than lesser examples of their kind, astral arachnids often indulge their begging prey with deals and bargains. Very potent astral arachnids can make pacts with mortals, gifting them supernatural abilities. In return, with little want for flesh in their plenty, these patrons' hunger is sublimated to desire the souls of those whom their followers fell. Scholars suggest that spiritual consumption at the jaws of an astral arachnid is a more usual and crueler end than the torture of devils or the judgement of angels.
The Astral Arachnid Otherworldly Patron is a Warlock subclass for Spelljammer or any other campaign with a space or spider theme.
