But Qern is merely gilded; covered by a golden veneer that hides a dirty, wretched underbelly. The city sits on the edge of a major industrial revolution, but only the wealthy, connected, and affluent stand to benefit and experience any of these powerful innovations as they hoard them in their secured estates and urban towers.
