Description

Panomachea (pān-ō-mäk-e-ä) is an original, all-out mythological battle game. Capture the most cards to win. Fight with the gods, heroes and monsters of Ancient Greek myth.

This is the kind of game that you'll remember playing. It gives you every opportunity to pull off those staggering wins you'll lord over your friends for years, and all but guarantees you'll eventually face the crushing defeat that can only come when you're you're feeling too secure about victory.

Panomachea is simple in concept. Your opponents have cards, and you want them. Because each one of those cards is worth sweet, sweet points.

So you send your Fighter Cards out to capture theirs by having a higher Power Level than the others.

Each player chooses a Fighter Card and plays them in order. There's always a World Card active that boosts one of the four suits. Once all the players have laid down their Fighter Cards, the highest overall Power Level captures all the cards on the field. However, it's not as simple as just having the highest Power Level card. Tyche (Ty-kee) cards, World cards, individual Fighter Card abilities and other captured cards can sway the round in your favor.

But since there's always a World Card active that boosts one suit and not the others, and changes through multiple methods throughout the game, there's always advantage and disadvantage on the table.

But that's not the only agent of chaos in this deck. Each card also has their individual Power Level, a unique ability that allows advantages against specific cards (for example, Athena steals victory from Zeus, and Odysseys can't be captured by Poseidon), and players also have Tyche (chance or fortune) cards that allow the tide to be turned in their favor by a strategic play.
