As Plothook the Pirate, you can have exciting Paperback Adventures alone or with a friend.

Paperback Adventures Character Box

Word-heavy playstyle
Barrage cards get bonuses for longer words
Can drain the enemy's life!
Can copy the effect of an item – effectively using it twice
Crew cards come back from the fatigue pile

As long as you have at least one character box, the core box contains everything else you need to play the game. The core box also has space to store the bonus content from each of your character boxes (note: not all content from those boxes), allowing you to set up a new game more quickly.
