Description

Publisher's blurb:

This small outpost is surrounded by a wooden palisade which protects it from external enemies. Inside the town other wooden walls seperate the town into five small districts. The central area around a giant statue of a hideous demon figure is the hub of the town. The rest of the town is divided into four equal quadrants along the cardinal directions.

The nearby city of Amber was abandoned by the Elves centuries ago and has lay in ruins undisturbed for decades. Recently Raffolk and the Five Hands Company has been sending in expeditions to search the ruins for valuable treasures and magical relics. The elves in town are upset about this blatent sacking of their once cherished city and have been sending in their own expeditions to secure valuables before everything is stolen by the humans in town.

In the center of Amber is an extraplanar gateway that has lay open for a long time. The gateway sends forth demons from another plane on an irregular basis. The large statue in the center of Pedale magically prevents the demons from attacking the town. Many bands of explorers and warriors have been lost to the demons in the old city.

The Instant Towns pdfs provide GMs with interesting NPCs and locations to use with or against your player group. Instant Towns can be interesting stops along the road, temporary bases from which to loot nearby ruins or side quests in between major campaign events.

The pdf provides a brief description of each Town including tavern, meals and costs, patrons and some rumors, town goings on, any stores, brothels or other significant places of interest in town.
