"The objective of the game is to lose all your pegs and 'Peg Out' before anyone else. Each player starts with 10 pegs which must be shown at all times.
To 'Peg Out' and win you must place your last 'Live Peg' down the 6 hole."
By rolling dice, the players determine which holes they are able to place their pegs in this turn. holes 1-5 are narrow, and a ridge around the peg means the pegs rest in the hole. the sixth hole is larger, allowing the pegs to pass through. the aim is to get all the pegs out of your hand, however the last peg must go down the 6 hole.
